Race Date: Saturday 12th January

Advertised as a chance to get 2019 off to an amazingly mad/bad/fabulous start. Two distances are available – 5km or 10km – and you can enter as a pair, a solo or a team. There were prizes for the most outrageous costume as well as for the fastest times: bespoke medals, FREE finish-line fizz, beer and the usual cake etc for all finishers. It’s a fast, flat and scenic route very close to Meadowhall shopping centre. Tea, coffee and hot chocolate are available at the start & finish line. The route is completely family-friendly, pram-friendly and wheelchair-friendly.

Fastest man on the 5km was our very own Stephen Schubeler in 00:17:49, first lady was Keeley Brown in 00:24:52. Jonathan Frary won the men’s 10k in 00:38:26, first lady was Rachel Cullen in 00:42:55. 122 runners took part, including four Striders.
