Race Date: Saturday 23rd March and Sunday 24th March 2019
Another busy weekend on the Monsal trail with a 10k and a half marathon on both the Saturday and the Sunday.
The were 68 runners in the 10k on Saturday with the winner being Sean Parkin (unattached) in 38.46. The first female came in 2nd place and was Caroline Warrington of Bromsgrove and Redditch AC in 41.03. 2 Striders took part – well done both.

Saturday’s half saw 328 runners finish the course with the winner being Thomas Beautyman of Hallamshire Harriers in 1.17.25. The first woman was Samantha Iliffe of North Derbyshire AC in 1.26.52

Special mention to Helen Shulver who won the lovely trophy in the main picture for 1st place FV 45. Excellent work.
Tomorrow is another day and so there was another set of races.
Only one Strider amongst the 71 runners for the 10k which was won by Chris Nattrass (unattached) in 38.19. The first female home was Lucy Jeczalik of Good Gym in 44.20.

And last but not least, some very strong running from Striders in the Sunday half. The race was won by Paul Sadler of haldon Trail Runners in 1.17.03. The first woman home was Hayley Gill of Matlock AC in 1.29.39.
Special mention should go to Sam Needham who picked up a podium 3rd place in the Sunday half so well done to Sam and to all the other Striders taking part of the weekend.
