Sunday 10th March

The James Thorn fell race is a classic up and down fell race, starting at The Royal Oak in Glossop. The route takes you up Snake Pass for quarter of a mile, before heading off road, into the hills. I imagine the views are amazing, but not on Sunday 10th March they weren’t – a blizzard put paid to any of that nonsense. Although, I have to admin that running up hills, and through snow 30cm deep is right up my street, so I had a brilliant time!

43 hardened fell runners turned out – Joe Oldfield, of Matlock AC was the first home, in a time of 37:38. First Lady was Caitlin Rice, of Ribble Valley, in a time of 42:02.
