Race Date Sunday 10 February 2019, report by Mark Platton
So after a short trip over the snake pass we arrived at the queens arms pub in Glossop . We arrived in plenty of time to register where we were greeted by our chairman Andy Buck.
After a look at the course map bob and myself knew we were in for a tough run much to the delight of our chairman. The doctors gate fell is a 12.7 mile race with 3,107ft elevation gain. It consists of 10 check points with the occasional Marshall. Not being the best navigator I was glad the weather was being kind. Overall this was a challenging but very enjoyable race and well worth the trip.
103 runners completed the race. First home was Rob James of Royton in 1:40:59, first lady was Helen Thornhill of Ribble Valley in 2:01:19. Andy Buck was the first of a trio of Striders in 2:46:56.
