11 Striders took part in this year’s Crowden Horseshoe race, which to judge by the photos online was a very boggy affair. Nonetheless, 139 runners made it round, led by Rob James of Royton Road Runners in 63:29. First woman was Sally Fawcett (Dark Peak) in 80:31, with our own Fran Cummins and Gillian Allen placing second and third women.
