Running through the rural Vale of York south west from York Racecourse, the ever popular Brass Monkey is described as fast and flat. Organised by York Knavesmire Harriers it attracts a large, quality field with just under 1500 finishers this year including eleven Striders. The race sold out in less than an hour again this year. First man across the finish line was Adrian Bailes of Birtley AC in 1:09:42, first female was Becky Briggs of City of Hull AC in an amazing 1:14:57.
1553 runners braved the gusty conditions, including 9 Striders.
