Ashbourne10 Race (10k and 10 mile) result and report

Report by Jane Huws

Race date:  Sunday 3rd March  2019

Organised by SBR Events, this was an event that consolidated a 5k,10k,10mile runs with 5k and 10k Canicross, and a 5k Nordic event.    The start was ‘lively’.  Weather was good – Storm Freya’s winds and  rain kept at bay.   The howling dogs in the Canicross 10k mass start was a spectacle worth the trip.

The route is an out and back along the TissingtonTrail.  Nice scenery but basically straightline trail running.  The tunnel very near the start caused a bit of slowing. as it was hard to get round people in the dark.   Start near the front if you want to avoid that.  Long slow hill out and easier back.  Photographer on the course added  some unpredictable runner behaviour.    The full results are here.
