Race date: Sunday 21st July 2019
This run is a bit unusual as it comprises 9 stages covering 30 km in total. Predictably, you run round Doncaster including a fair number of green bits by the look of it.
The erstwhile Stuart Jones describes it thus: “One word Race Report for the Round Donny 2019 (21 miles including transitions, with a trip up and over the iconic viaduct at Conisbrough), featuring just 4 SCS runners – Liam Russell, Emma Beal, Fran Allen and me (all the others knew better than us it seems): ‘Torturous’.”
171 places were awarded; that number includes individuals pairs and relay teams of 30. The Striders – there were 5 – ran as individuals except for Stuart and Liam who paired up.
First place went to Martin James of Doncaster AC in 01:55:20. First woman home was Caroline Wheelhouse of the same club in 02:11:48.
