Race Date: Sunday June 17th 2018
One thing that’s great about running is the fact that it can be a nice addition to any holiday. And, as we were wandering around on the Isle of Mull, we spotted a sign advertising a 5km Race for Life run and thought we would give it a go. It was a nice course, down the ‘main’ road, up into a forestry track, down through the forest and back again.
68 runners ran the course, including one Strider. Having never won a race before, I was pretty delighted as they called out my name and I was presented with a trophy (which will now take pride of place on my bookshelf). The Isle of Mull does have a half marathon and a sportive….its a beautiful island, but we’ll have to see if I return next year to defend my title.
First male over the line was Richard Kellett (16:41 mins), 1st lady was Naomi Rabin (23:42).
More information (including results, if they make it) can be found here
