Race Date: Sunday 9 December 2018
Peak Raid Mini Mountain Marathon is a series of 4 mountain orienteering events held in the Peak District from September to December each year. The premise is simple. You have 3 hours to find as many ‘controls’ (checkpoints) as you can and get back to the start. For every minute over 3 hours you start losing the points you collected, and fast!
The fourth staging of the race was at Baslow on the 9th of December. 134 runners completed the course and first home was Philip Vokes (Leeds University Orienteering Club) in a time of 2:31:16 (500 points) and first lady was Claire Prosser of Dark Peak Fell Runners in 2:59:58 (450 points). Five Striders were on the start line, their times (and points) are shown below.
