Race date: 22nd July 2018
Holme Moss fell race is a 25km fell race with over 1200 metres of climbing. It really is a gruelling test for fell runners and is categorised as an AL race (meaning long with a lot of steep climbs).
3 striders set out to conquer the route.
118 people completed the race with Karl Gray of Calder Valley taking top spot in 2 hours 33 minutes, 42 seconds.
First female was Helen Berry from Holmefirth harriers in 2 hours 58 minutes 39 seconds
Louis Wood put in a smashing performance to take 18th place. Alasdair learnt what it meant to complete Holme Moss on a hangover, a huge achievement itself, and Matt Gibson continued his long distance form, and strengthens his hold on the Long Distance Strider with a 95th place finish.
Well done to all.
