Race date: Monday 09th July 2018
Hathersage Fell race needs little introduction either – held annually as part of its wakes week in early July. 7.3km long with 307m ascent. As with many of the local fell races, it is short and sharp, but you’ll be rewarded with great views once you get to the top. This one ascends Higger Tor before descending back down into Hathersage. The race was won by Ben Hague of Rotherham Harriers in 29.02. Chloe Haines of Dark Peak was first lady home in 00:35:49.
A whopping 247 people ran the race, including a very healthy smattering of Striders. The race was really well supported by some ‘Mr Benn’ style Strider cyclists – thanks for the encouragement / abuse. Well done all – the smiles all round on the picture show what a great race was had by all.
