Race Date: Sunday 18th February 2018
The Great North West Half is billed as a fast and flat course around the coastal front of Blackpool, a great race for a PB and an ideal warm up race for April marathons such as London. The event is now in its 29th year and regularly attracts the capacity 1500 competitors to its two-lap course.
Some local interest in the race was provided by the winners – first over the line was Paul Fauset of Dark Peak Fell Runners in a time of 1:14:34 and first lady was Hayley Carruthers of Rotherham Harriers. Even more local interest was provided by three Striders amongst the field. Ben Stittle leading the charge with a finish time of 1:38, and Phillip Rogers and Shan Oxley both finishing in 1:45 – well done to all who ran!
