Glenarm 10k

This was the inaugural Born2Run Glenarm Challenge on the north coast of Northern Ireland and was made up of a Half-Marthon, 10k, 5k and 10k walk events.  The events were started with the hope of each event crossing the line around the same time and the varied routes around the estate meant you had to keep your wits about you! This was particularly improtant with the first switchback doubling as a cross over with the 357 10k participants having to dodge oncoming runners, I suspect that will change for next year!

In addition to the 10k runners, 254 people took on the half and a further 155 the 5k.

The Half was won by Don Travers of Newry City Runners in 01:23.04, first woman was Karen Wilton of Jog Lisburn in 01:26.01.

The 5k by Kyle Ross, Ballydrain Harriers 18.50 and Elaine Connor, Derry Track Club 20.30

The 10k race was won by Julien Cazelles of ASP in 37.15. The first woman home was Gemma McDonald of Ballycastle Runners in 41.58. The sole Strider, well SCS Strider, was me. There were another 16 Striders in total, from Scrabo, Sainfield or Newtownards!
