Race date: Sunday 8th April 2018
Mere mortals might consider taking it easy after a 24 hour flight, settling in, or having a few coffees. Then there are those who get off the plane and decide to stretch out those legs with a casual half marathon right after disembarking the aircraft. Only our very own Richard Pegg is bonkers enough for that. Strewth!
The Geelong Half Marathon is run along the beautiful Barwon River, from Belmont, to Breakwater and then up to Fyansford and back to Belmont. (Note – this is somewhere in Australia). Highlights included a sizzling barbie, and danger signs for snakes en route. Luckily, Richard returned unscathed.
The race was won by Abere KASSW in 01:04:32.6, the leading lady was Fasika METAFRIYA in 01:20:02.2.
One Strider ran the race, good onya mate!
