Race Date: Sunday 19th August 2018

A first taste of Autumn! Lashing rain, gale force winds and fog, all made for the ingredients of a great fell race. This low key race is well worth the £5 entry fee. No entry form to fill in, just what’s your name? There were no numbers left so we were given a marker pen to write our numbers on any limb of choice. One marshal was out on the 8 mile course ensuring we turned right off the path at the only place on the course where a mistake could be made. I loved this race and will certainly be looking at doing it again next year.

The race was on an 8 mile course with 1699 feet of climb. 158 runners took part including four Striders. The race was won by Rob James of Royton Road Runners in 1.02.44. The woman’s race was won by Sally Fawcett of Dark Peak in 1.22.15.
