Worksop Halloween Half Marathon 2017 Result

Race date:  Sunday 29th October 2017

This rather nice race is well organised by the Worksop Harriers and has been around since 1982.  It briefly touches Worksop but mainly wanders through delightful scenery in Clumber Park.  Especially attractive in the great weather on the 29th.

2,482 runners took part and first home through the leaves was the surprisingly well named Harvey Speed of Coventry Godiva Harriers in just 1:13:00.  The first woman home was Stephanie Burns of Rotherham Harriers & AC in 1:21:46.  Stephanie was in  30th position which gives you some idea of the competition at the very fast end of the field.

A very honourable mention to Strider Phil Skelton who finished 3rd overall in 1:15:07.

68 – I kid you not – Striders completed the course – amazing.

Two things to note.  I’ve used chip times hear as a good few of us had to wait a fair while to cross the start line.  The Strider position column is just a bit of fun….
