Race date: Saturday 24th June 2017
The redoubtable Goyt Valley Striders organised this 5.8 mile fell race as part of the Whaley Bridge Rose Queen Carnival Parade.
218 runners waltzed around the course with Steve Vernon (Stockport Harriers & AC) proving to have the fastest feet (35:21). The first woman home was Hayley Kuter (Salford Harriers & AC) in 43:18.
According to the results sheet, we had just one Strider – well done Simon. To prove (a) Simon was there; (b) really enjoyed himself; and (c) the definition of “fell” seems to include water:
