Race Date: Sunday 21st May 2017
A swim surrounded with mountains, a bike course in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park and a run through an awesome slate quarry – the organisers of the Slateman Triathlon challenge anyoneto find a more iconic race than theirs.
The 2017 race was won in a combined time of 2:28:18 by Lewis Eccleston of Manchester Tri, and the first lady home was Becky Schofield of Tri-Anglia in 2:52:54. Representing Steel City Striders, Thomas McCart completed the 1,000m swim, 51km ride and 11km trail run in a time of 4:06:07. Top effort Tom!
