Race Date: Sunday 24th September 2017
Firstly, huge thanks to John Crossland and his race team for the great organisation of the race, the marshalling out on the course and the results presentation and buffet at the Bowling Green afterwards.
After last year’s clean sweep by the Striders, it was time for Totley AC to put up a challenge and that they did by winning both the Men’s relay and the Women’s relay races. Striders won the mixed team trophy and also won the Ultra (as the only entrants were Striders – me and Steve Haake again). Alastair Lawson will be pleased to know that his Ultra record was never under threat although we did managed to knock 7 minutes of last year’s time.
Well done to everyone who took part in this year’s race. It was another great success, which included a few records falling. Well done to Steve Franklin and Jake Lane of Totley AC who now hold the Leg 2 record in a time of 1.02.37. The Totley AC Men’s team also smashed the overall course record with a new time of 5.19.26
