Race Date: Sunday 8th October 2017
Starting in Endcliffe park, the TenTenTen is a challenging 10k comprising of two 5k loops run on grass, road, paved paths and woodland trails – with a few twists/turns and lumps/bumps along the way (such as ‘that’ hill!) which all adds to the fun. As always, the event had a great atmosphere and was well supported, including some excellent encouragement from Striders throughout the whole route. David Perkins in particular was so raucous I nearly ran into a bollard startled.
955 took part in the race, including a great turnout of Striders. Well done to all! It was a fairly tight race at the top for the ladies with all top 5 finishing in just over a minute of each other. A pair of shoe trophies were brought home by myself and Caroline Brock who enjoyed a double podium finish that weekend. The race was won by Brogan McCawley of University of Sheffield in 36.06 and the first lady home was Nicola Curtis of Scunthorpe & District in 43.00.
