Race date 26th Feb 2017.

The 34rd edition of the annual Roding Valley Half Marathon held by the well established Woodford Green AC & Essex Ladies took place on Sunday 26th Feb 2017. A great value half marathon in the North London area used by many as a tune-up before the Spring marathon season gets into full swing.

An interesting course, beginning at Ashton Playing Fields in Woodford Bridge then heading out to do a small loop around Woodford Green and then 2 laps around Chigwell and Buckhurst Hill. No road closures so lots of pavement running and road crossings which means you’ve got to have your wits about you! Couple that with lots of sharp rises and falls makes this a race that requires a lot of concentration.

The race was won by George Gurney of Victoria Park Harriers and Tower Hamlets A.C finishing in 72:35. First female finisher was Lindsey Colman of Southend, crossing the line in 89:04. Full results online.
