Race Date: 24th September 2017
More than 12,000 runners descended on Nottingham’s Victoria Embankment for this year’s Robin Hood Marathon, Half Marathon and Mini Marathon. This was the 37th year the event has run, which takes in scenic views of Wollaton Park, Colwick Country Park and Nottingham Castle.
Four Striders made the trip to run the half marathon… only two of them resisted the cheesecake factory at mile 13 and decided to run impromptu full marathons instead*! They say you should run one marathon just for the experience alone – the atmosphere, the sights and absorbing being part of such a great event – and they’re right! This is probably the race I have enjoyed the most.
* Don’t try this at home — marathon training, taper, adequate breakfast, fuelling and Vaseline advised.
