Race Date: 12th November 2017
This is a great (12k) ‘not too far’ race but one which is certainly worth making the effort for on an autumn Sunday morning. For the second year running the sun was shining, the race takes you through one of the most beautiful dales of the White Peak, Lathkil Dale, starting and finishing at the Lathkil Hotel.
The race is part of the ‘Lathkil Fun Day’ which is full of various family games and events organised by the Hotel and raises money for the ‘Children in Need’ appeal. Along with the Senior Race, there is a 1.8m Fun Run along the lower section of Lathkil Dale.
The race was won by Dan Hayworth of Keswick in 45’10” and the first lady home was Beth Ansell of City of Sheffield in 55’00”.
Seven Striders, who were not mad / brave enough to do the Roaches on the same day participated in the race and all aced the final uphill sting in the tail. Well done to all.
