Race Date : 5 November 2017
A cold but bright morning saw almost 9,000 runners, including 14 Striders, take to the streets of Leeds for the annual Abbey Dash. The prospect of an out and back 10k along mostly long straight roads may not be everyone’s liking, if however you are looking for a 10k PB then you can’t go far wrong with the Abbey Dash.
The race traditionally attracts some of the countries top runners with this year being no exception as the first 15 all finishing under 30 minutes. First home was Sam Stabler from Wreake & Soar Valley in a time of 29:13. Reigning Percy Pud champion Eilish McColghan from Dundee Hawkhill was the first lady in a new course record time of 32:05.
