Race date: Sunday 1st October 2017

Over 30,000 runners and their supporters packed-out Glasgow for the multi-event 2017 Great Scottish Run for a weekend of all-inclusive running.  Saturday 30th September was a family day with a 100m toddler dash, a 1 mile family run for kids up to eight, and their families, and a 2.5k juniors race for 9-15 year-olds. The more serious business took place on Sunday 1st October with 10,000 runners participating in a 10K race, and a Half Marathon with over 15,000 participants.

The half marathon was the only event with Strider participation, and two club representatives lined up for the start in George Square.

The race was won by Chris Thompson (Aldershot Farnham & District A.C.) in 01:02:44. The ladies’ race was won by Flomena Cheyech Daniel (unattached) in 01:10:17. First Strider was Richard Maxtead in 01:31:38.  Well done to all who ran.
