Date: Sunday 2nd July
A slightly shorter race than previous years due to an unexpected new field boundary, but it merely cut out the short section through the village, and didn’t diminish the experience in any way. The 9.2 kilometre course contained an energy sapping 340 metres of ascent and includes some seriously technical sections (Bretton Clough is something else!). The course is described as “unique, varied and challenging” – which doesn’t really do it justice. A beautiful fell race – and one that is already in my diary for next year!
Congratulations to Simon Bennett, Al Cook, Dave Ansell and James Norton for picking up 2nd place in the Vet Male Team competition (only 196 points behind DPFR!)
