Near perfect weather this year for the 212 runners of the Dukeries 30 and 40 mile ultras. If you’ve not done an ultra before and you quite fancy trying one this is a great place to start. The course is relatively flat and on easy going trails, around Sherwood and Clumber Park.
The 30 mile race was won by Alastair Buckley of Totley AC in 03:43:22. The first woman home was Karoline Kucharek of Rolls Royce Harriers in 04:35:58. The 40 mile race was won by Ian Cox of Barrow Runners in 05:22:30. The first woman home was Gillian Johnson (Unattached) in 05:56:12.
2 Striders in attendance (referred to affectionately as ‘The Yellow Peril’ by a Dark Peak runner), Adrian Moss and Al Cook.
