132 runners took part in the shortest of the Dig Deep event distances of the weekend, with many there to see off those choosing the 12.12 mile option.
The hilly route headed up Ringinglow Road, then some cross country before the ascent up the beautiful Limb Valley, finally reaching Lady Cannings Plantation before views of the glorious purple heather on Houndkirk Moor. Some of the route will be familiar to those taking part in the Round Sheffield Run, although it’s much easier that way round. The spoils for those completing the race included the same t-shirt as those tackling the longer distances, I’ll make sure I don’t wear mine at the same time as any friends that had completed the Ultra!
The race was won by Chris Bevan in 42:01. The first woman home was Emma Beattie-Edwards in 56.11. Well done to all 7 participating Striders:
