Race Date: 1st October 2017

Organised by Doncaster AC, this was the 9th Annual Cusworth 10K road race. The route is run on quiet rural roads with start and finish in the grounds of Cusworth Hall. It sounds like a good course to try for a PB as according to reports there’s a bit of undulation, but nothing really challenging except for the incline just before mile 6. The approach to the Hall makes for a great finish.

470 runners took part in the race, Scott Hinchcliffe (Unattached) won the race in 32.39, with Fiona Davis (Rotherham Harriers) winning the ladies race in a time of 38.35. Creditable mention to parkrun cup guest Joe Sweetnam-Powell who won £25 finishing 3rd (in 34.46), which rumour has it, he passed straight on to the Goldstar to be allowed to enter such a prestigious tournament.
