Do you like fell running, beer, and steep hills? You’ll love the Bollington 3 peaks fell race (sponsored by the local brewery).
Race Date: Saturday 6th May 2017
Despite the flyer proclaiming that “Everyone is welcome, just turn up to enter on the day” the race sold out before one of the two Striders in attendance had registered, meaning that they had to run unofficially, and start from the back of the pack. Still, I wasn’t going to let this small setback get in the way of a good race. The other Strider cleverly pre-registered.
The three summits of Kerridge Hill, White Nancy and Nab Hill are all packed into a distance of just under 6 miles, giving a tasty 1,200 feet of elevation.
Congratulations to Phil Simon, finishing his hometown race in 48:12. Commiserations to Al Cook, unplaced (and un-recognised) in 52:39.
A fantastic race, along a beautiful route. Definitely one for the diary next year.
