The event was a point to point race which sees a mix of runners of all abilities race an amazing, flat course which many participants have found has PB potential. Starting in Birkenhead Park the race follows a path through the Birkenhead Docks to the River Mersey promenade at the Seacombe Ferry and then on to New Brighton. At the Marine Point retail park, the 10K contingent peel off to finish their race while the half marathon continue along the Wirral coastline as far as the Leasowe Castle Hotel where they loop back and return to the finish line on Coastal Drive.
Race winner was Mark Dunham (SOUTHPORT WATERLOO AC) in 01:12:08, first lady home was Carmel Triggs in 01:30:51
Lone Strider Dan Murphy made the trip and was rewarded with a shiny new PB. Well done Dan
