Race Date: Sunday 20th March 2016
The Trimpell 20 is a mostly traffic free 20 miler through Lancaster and the Lancashire Lune Valley countryside. It is part of the Lancaster Race Series. It is a good marathon warm up race.
The race winner was Iraitz Arrospide of City of Sheffield, with a time of 1:52:36. The winning lady was Joasia Zakrzewski of Durham City Harriers & AC in 2:05:28.
718 runners took part in the race, of which 2 were Striders.
Special mention goes to Dave Palmer for finishing in 3rd place over all. This is despite walking for a short distance in the 11th mile!
His time falls just 28 seconds short of John Kerr’s long standing V45 club record for the distance.
