Race Date: Sunday 11th December 2016
So the last fixture of the SYCAA XC series took the Striders to Penistone for a make or break race, at stake was the club’s position in the top division. However, the only thing to break was the pole in the beloved club tent. The Striders though, not be distracted by this catastrophe, held their nerve, dug deep and not only pulled a division saving performance out of the bag but scored enough points to move the club up a position in the league to 6th place. Well done all, great performance.
Before we go any further with the results, here are next year’s dates, so no need to clear those calendars because they should already be clear and this should be entry number one it in.

The women’s race was 6300m and has 120 finishers. It was won by Samantha Johnson of Hallamshire Harriers in 22.59. Well done to all 10 partaking Striders:
