Race Date: Friday 1st July 2016
Oh, did it rain – but only before the race. Striders huddled in cars at Heatherdene. Marshalls hidden in the woods under the trees for shelter keeping the paperwork dry – or trying to!! However, come 7.30, the sun gods were shining and the race was run for the main part in glorious sunshine save for the odd slight shower. Usual course, flat(ish) but slightly undulating! Phil Skelton stormed to victory in a time of 34.20. First woman home was Amy Earnshaw in 40.51.
Thanks to Barry Gyte for organising and all the marshalls for making it happen. Cheers to Richard Pegg for organising the delicious post race food, the staff at the Anglers for their efforts and to Wales for adding the extra entertainment.
Well done to the 79 participants in what was a fantastic event and evening.
