Race Date: 28th July
After a wet afternoon and early evening, the sky cleared just before the off to give bright but pleasantly cool conditions for this race which is 5.3 miles with 780 feet of elevation. The race featured two distinct climbs, the first was steep, on the road and carried on for almost a mile and a half. The second was more gradual on good trail. Only on the descent did fell shoes become useful with some very rough and rocky ground crossed before good trail reached for a fast finish.
The race was run by Stuart Bond in 32.32.7 with Zoe Proctor the first lady home in 40.53.9 (the results do not list club affiliations).
Thirteen of the 188 competitors were striders. Special mentions for Paul in tenth overall, Caroline as third lady home and Damien for holding off Phil all the way to the line.
