Race Date: Sunday 11th December 2016
The last of the four rounds of the Peak raid series took a trip to Crowden, sadly without me. Injury led to me pulling out of this event but thankfully I never left Joe Buckman high and dry as he managed to find a replacement in his own partner, Jo Brown.
I therefore know little about this other than it was pretty foggy but nowhere near as cold as the Glossop peak raid, when it put down 2 inches of snow whilst we were running around. This one was still a test of nevigational ability however. There were 119 competing individuals/teams. The two Joe/Jo’s did admirably, collecting 295 points in a time of 2.45.02. The winner was Richard Robinson of NOC who amassed 480 points in 2.50.30. The first woman was Tamsin Moran of ShUOC with 355 points in 2.47.22.
