Valentine’s day and what more can a girl ask for than an entry to a half marathon – and if you want to know the answer perhaps you should ask either Ashleigh or Emma!!

The half marathon around Liversedge will never be described as a scenic race, nor will it be described as a quiet race as there was a significant amount of car dodging to be done – but if hills are your thing then perhaps this is for you. It certainly isn’t a PB course.

So quite a tough course faced the 485 entrants, the numbers being swelled by a respectable amount of Striders. The race was won by Joe Sagar of Spenborough AC in a ridiculous time of 1.13.59. The first woman home was Jenny Latham of Wakefield Harriers in 1.24.41. Well done to all the Striders for their efforts, especially on those hills!
