Race date: 18th September
Billed as “the most beautiful race you will ever run” (and who are we to argue when we choose to have our New Years Eve training run here) the Ladybower 20 comprises a 5 mile circuit of Ladybower followed by the full 15 mile circuit of Ladybower & Derwent. Actual length is 20.7 miles.
[There is also a 50.9 mile ultra version featuring an additional two large loops of the two reservoirs. Matt Rimmer attempted this but had to pull out after “only” 35 miles – still no mean feat so kudos to him]
102 runners took part in the 20 miler with the fastest being Richard Elson in 02:18. Kirsty Hambleton was the first lady home in 02:31.
Adam McAuley was the only strider to take part and managed an impressive 15th place.
