Race Date: Saturday 6th August 2016
Boasting to be one of the most scenic races that you’ll ever run, the Islay Half Marathon begins and ends in the village of Bowmore on the Isle of Islay, with the beautiful backdrop of rolling countryside throughout the course. The route is circular, with two steady climbs in the first section and a fast descent into the second half.
Not only does it take place in a wonderful location, but the local support is said to be tremendous — every year the folk of Bowmore put on a marvelous post-race spread for the runners (whisky included!).
150 people took part in the race, including our solitary Strider, John Liddle. Well done John!
