Race Date: Tuesday 14th June 2016
Another new race for me. Stayed late at work then cycled the 3 miles to Handsworth for the Hobble. There had been a lot of rain in the preceeding days and this was obvious on the course as my Brooks couldn’t cope with the muddy condition and I was slipping and dancing all over the place. Two laps of the woods behind the pub equated to just over 5 miles and was ‘enjoyed’ by 95 entrants – some more than others. Well done to the 11 Striders that took part. Special mention to Rob Foster for his 4th placed finished and to Goldstar for his 6th place but 2nd place vet finish. He seemed very pleased with himself but I’m not sure if he won anything for it because I didn’t hang round to find out!
The race was won by Jordan Street of Clowne Roadrunners in 33.18. First woman home was Julie Wilson of Handsworth Roadhogs in 40.49.
