Race Date: Tuesday 31st May 2016
The Hallam Chase is a different kind of race. The Hallam Chase is open to male and female runners from South Yorkshire road and fell running clubs, under a handicap system: Tortoises off first, whippets last, with the aim to all finish together. The course is 3.25mls long with 800 feet of climb. An out and back from the cricket ground to the church gate at Stannington.
There was a brilliant turnout from the Striders with 19 of the 65 strong field coming from our club.This strong presence was rewarded with success as Jill Davies was the first to cross the line in a time of 37.32. Well done to Jill and to all the other participants in what was a pretty tight race with some very close finishes.
