Race date: 8th October
This race was one of the three “long” races in the Accelerate Gritstone Series 2016 and more importantly was the penultimate event in the Striders Fell Race Championship.
The race starts and finishes at Curbar Primary School, covers 9 miles with 403 metres of ascent and follows a variety of tracks and paths through Curbar, Frogatt and Baslow.
The race was won by Chris Arthur of Bolan in 59:33 (the only person to break one hour this year). First lady home was Helen Elmore of Dark Peak in 1:16:48.
Seventeen striders took part. Well done to Carol for being first W60. Commiserations to Blaine for having to retire.
