Race Date: Sunday 1st May 2016
There was a great turnout of 897 runners for this year’s Helen’s Trust Chatsworth 10k, including a smattering of Striders. The race is basically 5km straight up and 5km back down again. It was definitely a harder race than I was expecting, having turned up not knowing anything about the course other than it was 10k and mainly on trails. Not a race to be PB hunting but a hugely enjoyable race nonetheless. Highly recommended, for a great cause and one I will be putting in my calendar for next year.
The race was won by Andy Thake of Hallamshire Harriers in 34.54. The first woman home was Emma Parkinson (unattached) in 40.22
