Race Date: Sunday 13th March 2016

While the majority of Striders who raced on Sunday were to be found at the Dronfield 10k, Alastair Lawson surreptitiously waved the metaphorical Striders flag abroad and raced his Spring marathon in Barcelona. The route takes in many of the famous sights, including La Sagrada Familia and Camp Nou.

The race was won by Dino Sefir of Ethiopia in a time of 2:09:31. The winning woman was Valary Jemeli Aiyabei of Kenya in 2:25:26. There were 16501 finishers at the event.

Alastair finished 378th in his age category, and looked strong throughout judging by the official race photos. Well done! Another sub 3 hour marathon performance.
