Race Date: Sunday 10th April 2016
The Rotterdam Marathon is a high profile event in which the world’s top athletes as well as thousands of runners experience what it’s like to finish on the renowned Coolsingel; it’s held during a marathon weekend that combines top sporting action with a festival feel. No other marathon in the Netherlands can match the Rotterdam atmosphere, with more than 925,000 enthusiastic spectators along the course.
The race winner was Marius Kipserem of Kenya in 2:06:11. The winning lady was Leterbrhan Haylay Gebreslasea of Ethiopia in 2:26:15.
12,798 people took part in the event.
Our very own David Palmer was 5th in his M45 category, which is a great achievement given the quality of the competition – and in a time most of us can only dream of! Well done Dave.
