While a large chunk of Gold & Green warriors caused havoc at Castle Manor parkrun, a select few opted to travel up to Ripon and do battle with the best that Yorkshire has to offer at the Yorkshire XC Championship race at Lightwater Valley, Not content to battle through the mud on a tough route, this year entrants had to handle strong winds as well!.

For the men Richard Sayers and Ian Stinson did the club proud and for the ladies Carol Beattie and Claire Prosser did likewise in their race. I think it would be good for future races to get enough members (myself included) so we can start putting out full teams in both mens and ladies categories. Below are the results from those who did run, the ladies 8km race was won by Alexandra Bell of Pudsey & Bramley in 23:02 and the 10km senior mens race was won by Jonathan Thewlis of Notts AC in 35:44, the full results can be found over on the Northern Athletics website.
