20 mile races are like buses, but one more! This report is the third in a trio of 20 milers all held last Sunday. Jennifer Rich represented Striders in the Wymondham 20 race, which is in Norfolk.
In her own words it was ‘a great course – very gently undulating in a picturesque setting with views of the Abbey ruins. A little windy but nothing too severe. A tub of Jaffa Cakes and jelly beans served at the 12 mile mark, and generous selection of cake at the finish line, it made for a very memorable race.’
I noticed as I scanned the runner’s brief that there was an enforced cut off at 10 miles. Good to see that information being provided up front, given recent negative headlines regarding other 20 mile races.
Jenny is still in top form it seems as she came home second lady in a time of 2:21:57. Looks like we might have to build an extension to the trophy room at Striders HQ.
Winning male was Chris Darling from Cambridge Triathlon Club in time of 1:55:49. Winning lady was Tamara Jordon from Stowmarket Striders RC in 2:14:37.
