The WalesTrail marathon race route takes in the stunning trails and tracks of the world-renowned Coed y Brenin Forest Park in the Snowdonia National Park.
This unique marathon was launched in 2011 and proclaimed a huge success by runners and organisers in its aim of being Wales’ best trail marathon. The course takes in fully marked trail single track, forest roads and paths in some of the most stunning forestry and heathland in the UK.
This year the marathon attracted 345 runners including Strider Michael Twigg who described the marathon as, ‘one tough race’ and a ‘brilliand event, well recommended’. Well done Michael on a great time on a tough course
The race was won by Andrew Siggers of Kenilworth Runners in 3:01:46. First lady across the line was Samantha Amend of Belgrave Harriers in 3:29:23.
