Super Sunday still has a few more races to report on, one of which was the Thirsk 10; a 10 mile course around the North Yorkshire market town, most famous for being the birthplace of author James Heriott – thanks Wikipedia.
Thursday track regular Simon Hope, deep into marathon training, headed up there to represent us, and he told us that it was ‘perfect conditions for racing, and I managed to shave a couple of minutes off my 10 mile PB. My legs faded a little in the last 2 miles, but there’s definitely more to come as the training ramps up.’
First male was Jonathan Taylor for Morpeth Harriers in 00:48:45, first female was Justina Heslop running for Elswick Harriers in 00:58:15. There were 1059 finishers.
